Spote is an AI-native note-taking app built around a simple idea: your best thinking happens in AI conversations, and it shouldn’t disappear when the chat ends. You capture notes directly from your AI agent or through the web editor, organize them with buckets and hashtags, and retrieve them later — by meaning, not by keyword. When you start a new conversation, your past ideas become your next prompt.Documentation Index

Two core flows
Spote works in both directions between you and your AI assistant.AI → Spote
Tell your AI assistant to save a note to Spote. Reasoning, summaries, and decisions land in your knowledge base without you switching apps. The conversation ends — the thinking stays.
Spote → AI
Pull your old notes into a new conversation as context. Your past thinking becomes your best prompt. Your personal knowledge base feeds your AI — not the other way around.
Features
- Rich markdown editor (WYSIWYM) — write with full formatting support: headings, bold, italic, tables, code blocks, and images. Paste or drag-and-drop images directly into a note.
- MCP protocol integration — connect any MCP-compatible AI agent, including Claude Desktop, GitHub Copilot, and others. Your agent can save, search, and retrieve notes during a conversation.
- Semantic search — find notes by idea, not by exact keywords. Search understands meaning, so you can find what you wrote even when you can’t remember the precise words you used.
- Buckets and hashtags — organize notes into named buckets (folders) and add
#tagsinline as you write. Filter your note list by any combination of bucket and tag. - Note sharing — share individual notes with others by email. Choose read or write permission per person.
- PWA — install Spote on your phone or desktop for a native-feeling experience. Share content from other apps directly into Spote using the system share sheet.
- Personal Access Tokens — generate tokens in Settings to authenticate API calls or connect MCP clients without exposing your account password.
